Please find the Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association's (TCHTA) current notice regarding the gastroenteritis outbreak that has effected some hotels in the TCI. It should be noted that Royal West Indies Resort immediately implemented a thorough regime to combat this type of illness and has, as of the time of writing, not fallen victim to any large breakout.

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands, June 2nd, 2012 - The Turks and
Caicos Islands Tourist Board would like to advise the traveling public
categorically, that the Turks and Caicos Islands Tourism remains open for
business. Except for 1 or 2 properties on Providenciales, all of our
airports, resorts, cruise port and auxiliary services across the country are
providing the usual friendly and professional services that have become a
trademark of Brand TCI.
In light of the recent revelation of multiple cases of gastroenteritis
(diarrhoea and vomiting) occurring in a few resorts in Providenciales, we
advise that persons with these conditions adhere to the advice given by the
Ministry of Health or consult www.gov.tc
Local health officials, the Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association,
the Tourist Board are working diligently to rid our island of this medical
situation. Additionally the Ministry of Health has secured assistance from
the Caribbean Epidemiology Centre (CAREC) and the Pan American Health
Organization to help remedy this situation.
We would like to encourage the travel public to be guided by official
statements issued by local government and tourism officials on this subject.
