PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands – September 1, 2009 – Royal West Indies Resort, a 100-room all-suite property on Grace Bay Beach in the Turks and Caicos Islands, today announced the appointment of Jeffrey Boland as its Managing Director. Boland brings a background of more than 20 years in hospitality management to RWI, including extensive experience in the Caribbean market.

Most recently Boland was General Manager and Director of Operations at Seven Stars Resort in the Turks and Caicos. He was part of the operational set-up team at that luxury property for its opening in 2008. He was directly involved in the resort’s operations process development, recruiting, hiring and training staff, budgeting and forecasting, and the resort’s owners program.

Boland previously worked as a vice president of hotel consulting at Colliers International Hotel Advisory Group in Toronto, Canada. In that role he implemented operational management programs and financial assessment strategies. He also consulted for and acted as a Regional Operations Manager for a North American hospitality company based in Toronto, where he was responsible for the overall general management of three condo-hotels and five hotel properties.

Boland’s Caribbean experience includes a role as General Manager at Couples Hotels and Resorts in Negril, Jamaica, and Resident Manager at Sunswept Resorts, which operated La Source Resort in St. George’s, Grenada. Boland also has previous operations experience with various major chain affiliated hotel and resort companies.

He has a bachelor degree in Hotel and Food Administration from the University of Guelph (Ontario, Canada); and an MBA from the University of Lincoln (Lincolnshire, UK).
